DPO among two killed, 15 injured in Chaman suicide blast

CHAMAN, 10 July: District Police Officer (DPO) Chaman Sajid Khan Mohmand and his gunman were killed and at least 15 others including three police personnel were injured in a suicide attack at Eidgah Chowk area near Levies Headquarters in Chaman district of Balochistan on Monday.
According to media reports, the convoy of DPO Sajid Khan Mohmand was passing through the area when a bike-riding suicide bomber targeted the convoy. Reports said that the explosion occurred near DPO vehicle.
Media reports stated that firing started right after the blast.
The security forces have cordoned off the area as search operation is underway.
The injured, which mostly include police personnel, are being shifted to nearby civil hospital. Emergency has been declared in the nearby hospitals.
