August 09, 2017

BARA, 9 August: The political administration of Khyber Agency has announced to release compensation cheques to the owners of damaged houses belonging to Sepah tribe, which were earlier withheld under the collective responsibility law.

The administration had distributed compensation cheques among other affected tribes of Khyber Agency on 3 August, but cheques payment to 29 families of Sepah tribe was withheld. The administration will now give these cheques to the affectees of Sepah tribe on Thursday (tomorrow). The owners of 17 completely damaged houses will get Rs400,000 each, while the owners of partially damaged houses will get Rs160,000 each.

Sources said the administration had withheld the cheques to Sepah tribe over their non-cooperation in arrest of wanted criminals. Now the cheques are being paid after assurance by the tribal leaders that they will fully cooperate with the administration in arrest of wanted men.
