NEW YORK: The Trump administration is considering to stop $255 million in aid that it had delayed sending to Islamabad, New York Times reported on Saturday.

The decision comes months after Pakistan rejected US demand to access a man who was captured while freeing Canadian-American family from militants’ captivity.

US thinks he is a member of the Taliban-linked Haqqani network and a potential source of valuable information about at least one other American hostage.

Pakistani officials rejected the demand, the latest disagreement in the increasingly dysfunctional relationship between the countries.
