Sanitation drive launched in Chital

CHITRAL: The Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Chitral has initiated sanitation campaign in the whole district.

Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Naseer Qadir told journalists that the sanitation campaign has been launched on the direction of the provincial government and chief secretary since April 1 and it will continue till three months. He said all the village council chairmen and councillors have been given funds to ensure sanitation in their respective constituencies.

The TMO said garbage will be collected from different areas and placed in one location and then the TMA vehicles dispose that garbage. He said the TMA staff is working very efficiently and even 10-year old garbage dumps have also been cleaned during the campaign. He said the TMA staff is currently using four vehicles for this purpose.

Naseer Qadir appealed to shopkeepers to desist from throwing garbage everywhere. He said the citizens can also inform the TMA staff about garbage at any location by phone or sending WhatsApp photo. He said the TMA staff will immediately respond to such calls and clean that areas.
