Police arrest alleged killer of transgender person

PESHAWAR: The police claimed on Monday to have arrested the alleged killer of a transgender person who also confessed his crime. The transgender person was killed few days ago and his body was recovered from Darmangi area.

The police said that the alleged killer identified as Farhan has allegedly killed a transgender person after he refused to befriend him.

They said that the suspect had stabbed the transgender identified as Nawabzada alias Hajra to death and thrown his body in Darmangi locality.

Officials at the cold storage of Khyber Medical College refused to store his body that sparked media outrage.

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan has taken notice of the refusal and asked the college administration to explain why they refused to store it.
