Pashto cultural festival organised at Bannu Medical College

BANNU: The Pashto Literary Society organised a cultural festival at Bannu Medical College in connection with Pashto Day on Saturday.

Besides teachers and students, eminent Pashto poets Ghazi Siyal, Professor Dr Abasin Yousafzai, Latif Lala, Dr Yousaf Khan Jazab, Professor Tariq Danish and other people associated with the field of literature attended the function. The male and female students on the occasion presented different skits where were greatly liked by the participants. A music programme was also organised on the occasion, which was followed by a Mushaira (poetic symposium) during which the poets presented attractive and inspirational poetry.

Abasin Yousafzai, who was chief guest on the occasion, said such gatherings are very useful for promoting Pashto literature and culture. At the conclusion of the festival, the chief guest awarded awards, shields and certificates to the participating students and poets.
