Noose tightened on absent teachers in North Waziristan

MIRANSHAH: The political administration of North Waziristan Agency has tightened the noose on teachers who remain absent from their duties.

Political Agent Kamran Afridi said the record of all the schoolteachers has been computerised after increasing complaints of absenteeism. He said 70 percnet teachers are now coming for their duties and the administration has also sought the help of security forces to ensure 100 percent attendance of teachers at schools. He said lists of absent teachers are being prepared and action will be initiated against them after 20 days. He said there are also some teachers who are doing jobs abroad and also receiving salaries from their schools.

The announcement came few days after the administration sacked 22 female teachers over absenteeism from different schools of North Waziristan.
