Army shot dead two suicide bombers near Pak-Afghan border

KHAR: The security forces reportedly gunned down two suicide bombers late Sunday night during a search operation in Mamond tehsil of Bajaur Agency.

Officials at the political administration said that the security forces were alerted about the entrance of four suicide bombers to the agency. The intelligence agencies has released their sketches that were displayed at public places and urged the local residents to be vigilant.

The official said that the LEA’s personnel who were on duty on a checkpoint in an area in Mamond asked two suspects to stop last late night, who instead of stopping, opened firing on the forces.

They said that one of the bombers was gunned down in retaliatory fire while the second blew himself up. The claimed that two suicide vests, a hand grenade and other equipment used in explosives. The forces has extended the ongoing search operation to other parts.
