Irregularities surface in appointments in FATA Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate
December 06, 2017

PESHAWAR, 6 December: Irregularities have surfaced in appointments in the FATA Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate after which the Senate Standing Committee on SAFRON (States and Frontier Regions) has sought record of all the appointments.

The meeting of the Senate Committee on SAFRON was held at the Parliament House on Tuesday which was chaired by Senator Hilalur Rehman. A statement issued by the committee said that during the meeting, Senator Hilalur Rehman pointed out that the record provided to the committee about appointment of director general in the institution was not correct. FATA Additional Chief Secretary Sikandar Qayyum failed to satisfy the committee over the appointment.

Director General Monitoring and Evaluation Sajjad Ahmed, who also attended the meeting, expressed ignorance about the documents. The committee took strong exception to this and directed that all relevant documents regarding appointments must be presented.

The FATA Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate monitors development projects and other matters in the tribal areas.
