Inter-Media Youth Sports Gala begins in Peshawar

PESHAWAR, 11 November: The Inter-Media Youth Sports Gala organised by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Writers Association got underway at Peshawar Sports Complex on Saturday.

The event has been organised with the cooperation of Directorate of Youth Affairs. On first day of the gala, cycling and athletics competitions were organised. Danish Babar (DW) won the 400-metre cycling race, Saad bin Owais (Mashriq) got second positon, while Asim Shiraz (Khyber Star) got third position.

In the athletics 400-metre race, Shahid Afridi from TNN got first position, Muhammad Asif from Jang got second positon and Asim Shiraz from Khyber Star got third position.

The Awami National Party (ANP) leader Haji Malik Tariq Awan, who was chief guest on the occasion, distributed prizes among the winning players. Tariq Awan appreciated the efforts of KP Sports Writers Association for organising healthy sports activities for journalists. He said such activities should be organised on a regular basis.
