Inmate on death row moves PHC for permission to get LLB degree

PESHAWAR: A prisoner on death row at Haripur Jail on Saturday moved Peshawar High Court for permission to get admission for LLB and complete the degree.

In his petition submitted at PHC, Sajjad Ahmad adopted that he was behind the bar in murder case for the last 15 years and was awarded death sentence.

He said that his case was pending before the Supreme Court of Pakistan, adding that he was hailing from an educated family and he himself had got postgraduate degrees in political science and English literature while in jail.

The petitioner added that he wished to complete an LLB degree and urged the PHC to grant him permission to get admission in LLB. The petitioner claimed that he wanted to become a responsible citizen if he was forgiven.
