MIRANSHAH: The administration of North Waziristan Agency has announced to open Pak-Afghan Ghulam Khan border on Friday.

Earlier, it was announced that the border will be opened today (Thursday), but that decision was taken back on Wednesday. In a statement, the administration said now the border will be opened on Monday, 12 March, for trade on a limited scale. It said regular trade on the border crossing will start after inauguration of the trade terminal. But on Thursday another announcement was made that it would be opened on Friday.

Ghulam Khan border was closed for trade activities with the initiation of military operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan in 2014. Traders had made several demands to the administration to open the border to facilitate trade activities between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The traders have expressed happiness over the government’s announcement of opening the border.
