Four tehsildar allegedly embezzled public funds in Waziristan

WANA: Political Administration South Waziristan has started inquiry against four tehsildar into alleged corruption in funds for reconstruction of houses damaged in military Operation Rah-e-Nijat.

Sources at the administration said that funds worth millions of rupees were embazzled during phase-IV of damaged houses survey in 300 villages.

They added that around 2100 forms were distributed at the village of Member National Assembly from Wana Maulana Jamaluddin against 30 damaged houses which was a clear attempt to appease his voters as elections is on the corner “The MNA mentioned 2100 damaged houses in his village where only 30 houses were destroyed during the operation,” said one of the sources.

They maintained that the MNA also got forms for mosque during the survey that was meant for damaged houses. “

There are several reports coming from Fata residents about huge corruption in funds allocated for reconstruction and rehabilitations in areas of feturm. However no or little action has been taken on theses complaints.
