FDMA releases Rs192m ‘August installment’ for Waziristan IDPs

ISLAMABAD: The Fata Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) has released Rs192 million, an installment for the month of august, for the displaced people of North Waziristan Agency.

FDMA spokesperson Attur Rahman said that the amount was transferred to the accounts of 16,000 IDPs, adding that Rs12,000 would be transferred to the account of every IDP family.

He added that the FDMA has also released Rs35,000 repatriation grant to the accounts of 975 of those returned families who have not received it earlier.

He said that around 300 IDP families have complained that FDMA stopped their ration and monthly stipend of which applications of 152 families have been sent to the political administration for verification.

He said that FDMA has verified the remaining complaints on its own and decided to stop provision of ration to them.
