Educational institutions in Mohmand on high alert after receiving ‘militants’ threats

GHALLANAI: Education Department of Mohmand Agency on Thursday directed all education institutions to beef up its security after receiving threat alerts.

To this effect, a meeting was held here at Assistant Political Agent Tariqullah office that was attended by Assistant Education Officer Faridullah and teachers of public and private schools.

The teachers and owners were directed to take steps for improvement of security of their schools to avoid any untoward incident as the department has received threats. The teachers were asked to assign security tasks to cadets and scouts of their schools.

Talking to Tribal News Network, Faridullah said that weapons would be given to watchmen of the schools and masses would be urged to stay vigilant.

He said that around 20,000 more students have been enrolled under the ongoing enrolment drive in the agency. He added that around 127 schools were destroyed during war on terror.
