ECP bans recruitment in govt departments until general elections

PESHAWAR: In the light of upcoming elections, the Election Commission of Pakistan on Wednesday banned on hiring in federal, provincial and district departments.

A document was issued by the department of Election Commission in which it was clearly stated that the recruitments in government departments have been temporally banned with effect from 1st April. The decision was made to ensure transparency in the upcoming general elections 2018.

However appointments that fall under the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) and Provincial Public Service Commission (PPSC) will be exempted from this ban.

Moreover the implementation of all the development schemes taken up after April 1, will also be put on halt.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has informed all the departments and ministries to strictly follow the ban.
