Another child reportedly raped, killed in Mardan

MARDAN: A seven-year-old boy found dead in Bajauro Korono area of Mardan district which sparked protests on Sunday with protesters demanding immediate arrests of the killers. The police said that the child was playing outside his house when he was kidnapped by unknown person(s)  on Saturday and his body was recovered from fields behind his house.

Parents of the child reported missing of their son immediately and search was launched for his recovery. District Police Officer Mian Saeed said that an unidentified suspect dumped a gunny sack bearung the child’s body in the fields on Sunday morning.

The child was son of labourer who earns daily wages by loading and unloading trucks and other vehicles. The police have collected evidence from the crime scene,said the police official. The body was sent to Mardan Medical Complex for a post-mortem examination where DNA samples were collected from it and sent to the Bacha Khan Medical College forensic laboratory for testing.

Relatives of the slain chils staged a protest and blocked Mardan-Nowshera road demanding the police to arrest his killers.

Recently, a four-year old Asma was killed after she was raped in sugarcane field in Mardan.
