Action against unqualified doctors in Kurram Agency sought

SADDA: The elders of Kurram Agency have expressed concern over surgeries performed by unqualified doctors at the Agency Headquarters Hospital Sadda.

The local elders said the lady doctors in Sadda who conduct surgeries even in normal delivery cases and some doctors have established private clinics where they are fleecing the poor people. They said it has been observed that despite recommendation of lady doctors to perform surgeries in some delivery cases, the women gave birth to children at their own homes thorough normal deliveries. They said the lady doctors are performing surgeries even in normal delivery cases to mint money.

The tribal elders have demanded the Health Department and political administration to take action against unqualified doctors in Kurram Agency.

Assistant Political Agent Lower Kurram Tariq Hassan, when contacted, told TNN that an inquiry is being held into the matter and action will be taken against unqualified doctors.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Council of Physicians (PCP) has warned the doctors not to mention FCPS qualification on the credit without fully passing the exam. The PCP notification said doctors cannot mention FCPS with their name by passing just part-1 of the course. The notification said action will be taken against such doctors and their FCPS course will also be cancelled.
