10-day long peaceful sit-in of Pakhtuns youth ends after written agreement with PM

ISLAMABAD: The 10-day long peaceful sit-in of Pakhtuns youth in Islamabad ended on Saturday after Prime Minister Shahid Khaqab Abbasi assured in written to fulfill their demands.

The sit-in was called off after Advisor to PM Engr Amir Muqam came and addressed the protesting Pakhtun youth and informed that the prime minister has accepted the demands. 

He said that sit-ins were being organized in India and Afghanistan in support of Islamabad protest depicting a wrong image of Pakistan that was neither in favour of Pakhtuns nor for image of the country.

The demands include arrest of Rao Anwar, his death sentence, production of missing persons in courts, and clearing of South Waziristan Agency of landmines and compensation to the victims. After receiving written agreement, the youth have ended their sit-in that remained peaceful for 10-days.
