PESHAWAR, 5 July: The US Senator John McCain said on Tuesday that the US was banking upon Pakistan’s support to eliminate militant groups in Afghanistan.

McCan said while talking to media persons in Kabul during his visit to Afghanistan that the US has already made it clear that Pakistan’s support was crucial in eliminating militant groups, including Haqqani Network, in Afghanistan. He warned that the US will have to change its attitude if Pakistan didn’t change its attitude.

McCan was accompanied by other members of the US Senate’s Arms Services Committee. The committee members had visited Pakistan two days ago. During the visit, the US senators also went to South Waziristan where they were briefed by the Pakistan Army officials about ongoing military operations and border security management.
