Ruet-e-Hilal committee to meet on May 27 for Ramazan moon sighting

KARACHI, 14 May: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee would meet on May 27 in Karachi for sighting the moon of the holy month of Ramazan with Mufti Munibur Rehman in the chair.
Met Office says the Ramazan moon is likely to be seen on May 27 as skies would remain clear and the first of Ramazan is likely to fall on May 28, Sunday.
The federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments had imposed ban on private Ruet-e-Hilal Committees. The government has also suggested punishment for people announcing Ramazan without the government’s permission.
