PHC Stays Appointment Of VCs In Nine Universities Of KP
PESHAWAR, 21 April: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has barred the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government from appointing nine vice chancellors of universities in the province.
A two-member bench of the PHC headed by Justice Roohul Amin issued this order on Thursday on petition of Professor Dr Mansoor and AZ Hilali on behalf of the senior professors of different universities. The petitioners said several candidates who had requisite qualification and experience were ignored for the posts of vice chancellors in the interviews.
After hearing arguments, the court barred the provincial government, Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Academic Research Committee from issuing final notification of appointment of vice chancellors of nine universities and sought reply from them.
