Pakistan beat World Eleven by 20 runs in first T20

PESHAWAR, 13 September: Pakistan defeated World Eleven by 20 runs in first match of Independence Cup at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on Tuesday night.

Pakistan after being invited to bat first scored 197 runs for the loss of five wickets due to brilliant batting of Babar Azam who scored 86 runs. Ahmed Shehzad scored 39 runs, while Shoaib Malik scored 38.

World Eleven could make 177/5 in the allotted overs and lost the match. Sohail Khan, Romman Raees and Shadab Khan took two wickets each. Babar Azam was declared player of the match due to his brilliant batting.

The second match of the three-match series will be played at Gaddafi Stadium today (Wednesday). The match will begin at 7:00pm (PST).
