Negligence case: Court orders registration of FIR against doctors

PESHAWAR, 18 March: A local court in Peshawar on Saturday ordered registration of an FIR against 12 doctors from Naseerullah Babar Memorial Hospital and Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar for allegedly causing death due to negligence.
As per details, additional session court heard a complaint filed by Gul Hamad Farooqi, a journalist and resident from Chitral, that his son died from appendix burst due to negligence of the doctors. In his statement, he said that his 13-year-old son, Farhan, was suffering from pain at her right-hand of abdomen. He took him to Naseerullah Babar Memorial Hospital and then Lady Reading Hospital on July 9 and 23 last year respectively, he narrated adding every time doctors recommended him only medicines but he was still suffering from the pain. On August 22, when he took him to Hayatabad Medical Complex, he was told that his son was suffering from appendix burst. The doctor done his surgery but he doesn’t survived, he told.
After hearing the arguments, additional session judge Usman Wali directed police to lodge an FIR against 12 doctors that include Dr Spain Gul, Dr. Muhammad Zaheen from Naseerullah Babar Memorial Hospital and Prof Dr, Kafayat Khan, Dr, Muhammad Fayaz, Dr. Asghar Nawaz and Dr. Jhangir from LRH and initiated action against them.
