NAB Arrests Four Officials Of Account Office In Battagram
PESHAWAR, 11 January: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has arrested four officials of the Battagram’s District Account Office, a press release issued here on Wednesday, said.
It added that District Account Officer Muhammad Ayaz, Assistant Treasury Officer Tariq Mehmood, Senior Auditor Aurangzeb and Sub-Accountant Muhammad Hamid Younis were allegedly involved in corruption and misuse of authority.
The accused, the press release added, caused huge loss to the government exchequer. During the course of investigation it was revealed that accused persons in association with each other allegedly generated 42 fake personnel numbers of non-existing and ghost employees of Education Department, Battagram and drew salaries worth millions of rupees and embezzled the same.
The accused person will be presented before a Accountability Court in Peshawar on Thursday for obtaining their physical remand.
