January 08, 2017

KHAR, 08 January: Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam (F) has announced to hold protest demonstrations in all tribal agencies against the proposed merger of Fata into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Addressing a public meeting here in the agency headquarter of Bajaur agency, Ameer of JUIF, Fata chapter Mufti Abd-u-Shakoor dispelled the impression that his party was favoring the British-era law of FCR.

He said his party would not accept any decision imposed on the people of Fata against their wishes.

“We want that Fata should be given the status of a separate status,” he said and demanded of the federal government to hold referendum in Fata in this regard.

Addressing the meeting, JUIF Bajaur Ameer Maulana Abdur Rasheed gave open challenge to the leaders of Fata Political Alliance, who has been advocating the merger of Fata in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to hold a public debate on the issue.
