Grenade attacks leave 14 dead in Afghanistan

PESHAWAR, 24 February: As many as 14 members of a family including women and children died in hand grenade explosion in Laghman province of Afghanistan, officials said.

According to them, unknown miscreants lobbed hand grenades on the house of a civilian in Badpakh district of eastern Laghman province in Afghanistan, killing 14 people of the family.

Local authorities have confirmed the incident and said the matter was being investigated and efforts were underway to arrest the perpetrators.

No group or individual has so far claimed the responsibility of these gruesome killings, however local residents said the incident seemed to be an act of family feud.
