Five Security Men Injured As DPO’s Convoy Attacked In Awaran Distirct
QUETTA, 17 December: At least five security personnel were injured when the convoy of government officers was attacked in Awaran district of Balochistan on Saturday, police said.
According to police, the District Police Officer Aziz Jakhrani and Assistant Commissioner Fayyaz Ali were on a routine patrol in Jhao area of the district when unidentified gunmen ambushed their convoy.
The DPO and the assistant commissioner narrowly escaped the attack, however five security officials were injured in it.
Security officials retaliated to the firing, however, the attackers managed to flee. The injured were shifted to a local hospital for treatment. According to doctors two of them are in critical condition.
