JHELUM, August 11: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday resumed rally to his hometown in Lahore via the Grand Trunk (GT) Road after an overnight stay on the banks of River Jhelum.

The rally set out for Gujranwala where the former prime minister is likely to stay for the night. He was welcomed by thousands of his supporters while passing through Kharian and Lalamusa. He addressed his party workers Gujrat. He said that he has filed appeal in people’s court and not in the apex court.  “Have you accepted the decision of the court,” he asked the crowd.

He also said that opponents have been spreading propaganda that PML-N hire people to attend its rally and asked his supporters if they were for hire to which the crowed responded ‘No”. The former prime minister also reminded the crowed of developmental projects completed and launched during his tenure.

He dismissed all charges of corruption and asked the opponent to bring a single proof, adding that he has not a single stain of corruption on his political career.

He said that even the judges themselves found evidence to prove corruption on him and was removed for not taking salary from his son. He asked the people that they elect a leader and he was sent home with a stroke of pen. “This is what is done to your votes,” he said that asked if they wanted him to sit at home.
