Chitral residents denounce SRSP for using substandard materials in grid station

CHITRAL, 16 July: Residents of the Chitral Town on Sunday staged a protest demonstration against the SRSP for using substandard materials in small hydro power grid station in the area.
As per details, the residents staged protest sit-in at PIA Chowk and shut down Shahi Bazaar for all types of activities demanding an investigation into Chitral Town grid station and stern action against corrupt officials.
They said that Europe Union had issued Rs 70 million to SRSP for the construction of two megawatts Chitral Town Hydropower Grid Station. However, the SRSP used substandard and cheap materials in the construction of the power grid station.
They have asked the provincial government to investigate the matter and take action against the SRSP officials for their negligence.
