ANP, QWP, JUI-F bring no-confidence motion against Charsadda nazim, naib nazim

CHARSADDA, 12 August: The Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) and Awami National Party (ANP) after making alliance in Charsadda have brought no-confidence motion against District Nazim Fahad Riaz and Naib Nazim Haji Mansoor Shah.

The ANP, QWP and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have submitted the joint resolution in the Local Government Department. The motion seeks summoning of the district assembly session on 15 August. Charsadda district council has 21 members from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and four members from the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI). The ANP has 24 seats, QWP has 16 seats and the JUI-F has nine seats. Therefore, in comparison to 25 seats of the PTI and JI and alliance of ANP, QWP and JUI-F has 49 seats and there is strong chance that the PTI’s district nazim will lose his seat.
