PESHAWAR, 11 August: The Afghan Refugees Advisory Shura head Wilayat Khan has alleged massive corruption in funds for the refugees.

Addressing a press conference at Peshawar Press Club on Thursday, Wilayat Khan alleged that Afghan refugees representative Abdul Hameed Jalili and Baryali Miankhel were involved in massive corruption. He alleged that these persons have links with influential people in Afghanistan. He said evidences in support of these allegations have been sent to Afghan Ambassador in Pakistan Umar Zakhilwal and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani. He hoped that action will be taken against corrupt elements.

Wilayat Khan warned that the refugees will besiege the offices of Abdul Hameed Jalili and Baryali Miankhel if action was not taken against them. He said responsibility of any untoward incident in that situation will rest with Umar Zakhilwal.

“Blame game is continuing in utilisation of funds of Afghan refugees. These two officials should sit with us and fix responsibility of all this mess. Injustice with the refugees should come to an end. We will not allow anyone to spoil our brotherly ties with Pakistan,” he told TNN.
