10 labourers shot dead, several injured in Gwadar, Balochistan

GWADAR, 13 May: At least 10 labourers were killed and several others sustained injuries in armed men attack in Ganth Peshkaan area of Gwadar district of Balochistan here on Saturday.
According to levies sources, the labourers were busy in construction work on a road in Ganth Peshkaan area of Gwadar district when unknown armed men opened indiscriminate firing on them killing eight labourers on the spot whereas two of the injured succumbed to injuries on way to hospital. The dead bodies and injured were shifted to district headquarter hospital in Gwadar where an emergency was imposed.
The deceased lobourers belong to Naushahro Feroz area of Sindh. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The attack comes a day after the bomb blast targeting a convoy of Deputy Chairman Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri in Mustung district of Balochistan. At least 25 people were killed and more than 30 others had sustained injuries in the blast.
It is pertinent to be mentioned here, Gwadar has vast importance due to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
